A lot of tutoring happens over a screen, or asks your family to travel. I offer something more convenient and more professional — and I think it shows in how students progress.

Qualified in the hard subjects

Two university degrees behind every lesson — a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.Comm. in Operations Management. Years of university-level math and physics mean I teach the reasoning, not just the steps.

I come to you

No screen between tutor and student, and no driving across the city after a long day. Online loses something, and meeting halfway costs you time — I bring in-person teaching to your kitchen table or a library nearby.

An evaluation first

The first session is usually an evaluation — I get a feel for where your child is at. The exception is an urgent deadline or test, where we jump straight into preparation.

Sessions built around your student

I adjust pace, style, and materials to each student — including neurodivergent learners. I've worked with a wide range of ages, grades, and needs, including a student with ASD.

In-home or at your local library

I come to you anywhere in Calgary, or we meet at a library near you — whichever is easier for your family.

Simple pricing, with a reward for referrals

No packages or contracts — just per-hour sessions, plus a thank-you when you send another family my way.

$50 / hour

$40 / hour × 4 sessions

Refer someone and get $10 off each of your next 4 sessions — $40/hour for those four, then back to the standard $50/hour. Refer again and it applies again.

About

A tutor who adapts to the student in front of them

I tutor across every K–12 grade in math, early reading in the younger years, and senior-high physics. Over that range I've worked with all kinds of learners — confident kids who need a push, anxious ones who need to slow down, and students with different learning needs, including a student with ASD.

My background is technical — a lot of math and physics done under real pressure — which is why I can explain the why behind a concept, not just the steps to memorize.

What areas of Calgary do you cover?+
Anywhere in Calgary. I come to your home, or we meet at a library near you — whichever is easier for your family.
Do you offer online tutoring?+
No — I teach in person only. I find students learn better face-to-face, without a screen in the way, so every session happens at your home or a nearby library.
How does payment work?+
Pay per session by e-transfer or cash — whichever is easier for you.
What's your cancellation policy?+
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. That lets me plan my route and offer the time to another family.
What happens in the first session?+
The first session is usually an evaluation — I get a feel for where your child is at and how they learn, then build a plan from there. If there's an urgent test or deadline, we skip the evaluation and start preparing right away.
How long is a session, and what does it cost?+
Sessions are typically one hour at $50/hour, with travel to your home included. Longer sessions are no problem by arrangement. Referring another family earns you $10 off your next 4 sessions — so those four sessions are $40/hour, then the rate returns to $50/hour. (Refer again and the discount applies again.)
